In recent years, serverless has broken through as a concept for delivering cloud native applications. Serverless involves writing application code, but then deferring the execution of that code to a runtime platform to be executed and scaled. This accelerates time to market for applications, as organisations can leave many concerns to the platform – concentrating instead of differentiating business logic.
Though this is a powerful and rapid way to develop applications, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery are as relevant as ever, as multiple developers still need to integrate, test and deploy their code.
In this talk, we will introduce serverless to individuals new to the concept using AWS Lambda, and then demonstrate how we can achieve a continuous Continuous Delivery pipeline which allows teams to work together to deliver applications continuously!
Objective: Understanding the serverless concept and its influence on the Continuous Delivery pipeline.
Prerequisites: An appreciation of DevOps and Continuous Delivery concepts.
