Henry Ford once said, “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” So how can we learn the most from system failures? This session will move beyond “blameless” postmortems to show how we can use data to avoid and mitigate future failures.
I’ll cover best practices for gathering systems-related data, people-related data and how to use the data to formulate actionable response plans and avoid repeating failures. After discussing how to gather data, I’ll show how we can use the data to formulate actionable response plans and mitigate future failures.
Objective: The audience will learn to better understand, communicate and learn from failures.
Prerequisites: No previous knowledge is required. The session will be accessible to both technical and non-technical attendees.
